Salloum & Company is seeking a lawyer with up to five years of experience to join our family law practice in downtown Edmonton.

This position offers direct client contact, meaningful responsibility for files, and opportunities to develop courtroom and negotiation skills. We welcome applications from newly called lawyers and associates with an established foundation in family law.

We are looking for someone who is practical, organized, and committed to thorough preparation. The successful candidate will communicate effectively with clients, exercise sound judgment, and work toward resolution while being prepared to advocate in court when necessary.

The Role

You will work on matters involving divorce, parenting, child and spousal support, and property division. Responsibilities include:
Meeting with clients, providing advice, and developing file strategies.
Drafting pleadings, affidavits, agreements, correspondence, and court submissions.
Reviewing financial disclosure and addressing outstanding information.
Preparing for and attending court appearances, questioning, negotiations, and settlement meetings.
Managing deadlines, maintaining accurate time records, and keeping clients informed.




Working with senior counsel and support staff to move files forward.

The level of independence and file responsibility will reflect your experience, with guidance available from senior counsel.

Qualifications
Membership in valuable standing with the Law Society of Alberta, or eligibility for admission before starting.
Up to five years of experience, preferably with exposure to family law.
Solid legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Professionalism, discretion, and a thoughtful approach to sensitive client matters.
Initiative and a willingness to collaborate and respond to feedback.

We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the firm and build a solid family law practice. Compensation will be discussed based on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $44,189.45-$131,029.95 per year
