We are looking for an experienced elementary school math tutor to provide one-on-one, in-person tutoring for a Grade 2 student.

Responsibilities:
Provide one or two hours of tutoring per week, with a adaptable schedule.
Focus on developing the student's mathematical problem-solving skills, particularly in word problems.
Help the student understand questions, analyze problems, develop mathematical reasoning, and apply effective problem-solving strategies.
Use targeted exercises to strengthen the student's independent thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements:
Must reside in Montreal's West Island and be available for in-person tutoring.
Experience teaching or tutoring elementary school mathematics.
Experience preparing students for the Math Kangaroo Competition is highly preferred.




Familiarity with the Canadian or Quebec elementary school math curriculum is an asset.
Patient and skilled at encouraging children to think independently rather than simply teaching calculation methods.

Location: Montreal West Island Schedule: Once or twice a week, one hour per session

Compensation: Negotiable
