Maternity Leave Position | Starting ASAP

South Coast Dental Care is looking for a friendly, dependable and motivated Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team for a maternity leave position through approximately September 2027. This position has the potential to lead to permanent employment.

We are a busy, established and patient-focused dental practice where teamwork, kindness and high-quality care are genuinely valued. This position offers a consistent Monday-to-Thursday schedule with no evenings or weekends.

Position Details
Monday to Thursday
No evenings or weekends
Starting as soon as possible
Contract through approximately September 2027
Potential for permanent employment following the initial contract

Responsibilities
Provide chairside assistance during a variety of general dental procedures
Prepare operatories, instruments and materials for treatment
Take digital radiographs
Follow current sterilization and IPAC protocols
Maintain accurate and complete patient records
Assist with impressions, laboratory work and other clinical duties
Help keep the clinical day organized and running smoothly
Provide warm,



compassionate care to our patients
Work collaboratively with the dentist, hygienists and administrative team

What We’re Looking For
Level II Dental Assistant certification preferred
Robust knowledge of sterilization and infection-control procedures
Dependable, organized and able to anticipate the dentist’s needs
Friendly and professional, with excellent communication skills
Comfortable working in a busy general dental practice
Previous dental assisting experience is an asset; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
Experience with ClearDent is an asset
