Brake Operator

PK Metal works Ltd. is a metal service and fabricating shop with 26 years of service located in Surrey, BC.

General responsibilities
Shear material as per lists and direction
Perform production bending
Punch/Drill holes prior to bending
Change dies on brake press
Cope corners on pans etc.
Perform basic layout
Control crops
Perform repetitive operations

-Keep work areas clean, swept and crop plate and tools neatly organized

Type of Equipment

-Brakes and presses, Shears, Cutting torches, Grinders, Drills, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines

Area of Specialization

-Structural metal or steel, Plate work

Specific Skills

Lay out reference points and patterns, Assemble/ fit plates and sections to form structures

Essential skills





-Ability to communicate in English, write English, read English

-Math skills, excellent communications skills, able to Work with others, Problem solving, Job task planning and organizing, critical thinking, significant use of memory, Continuous learning

Education

-Completion of High School
