Sir Sam's Ski/Ride is a family ski hill located in the Haliburton Highlands and overlooking Eagle Lake. Established in 1965 by the Bishop Family it remains a favorite hill for thousands of skiers every year. The ownership of Sir Sam's Ski/Ride is committed ensuring that families can continue to ski/ride and create lasting memories.The Food and Beverage Manager will have two coordinators (one Restaurant area and one Cafeteria area). This position requires a high level of communication and organizational skills. Reports to the General Manager.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOverall management of the cafeteria, grab and go, restaurant, and bar areasSupervising team of coordinators, runners, servers, bartenders, cashiers and expeditorsScheduling work rosters for the front of house team, ensuring the correct level of staffing is achieved on each shiftMonitoring staff performance and giving feedback where necessaryHiring and training new employees so they meet high quality standards (onboarding packages, contracts, WHMIS, health and safety, relevant certifications, etc.)Responding quickly and sympathetically to any customer concernsAdhering to all health and safety requirements,



including food hygiene regulationsSupporting colleagues and staff during busy periods, including taking orders, serving meals and clearing tablesLiaising with the kitchen staff to ensure an effective and seamless serviceOrdering of all consumables and alcohol for both bar and cafeteriaEnsuring bathrooms and front of house are properly cleaned on a regular scheduleWorking closely with the Kitchen Manager and the Event Manager to ensure proper staffing levels and set up requirements.Working with the Kitchen Manager and Event Manager on menusInputting and maintaining POS system with menus and pricing (Lightspeed)Scheduling regular maintenance of draft lines, coffee machine, ice machine, fridges, etc.Previewing tip process and adding up weekly hours and liaising with office managerInventory (weekly and bi-weekly) and put into systemReview contacts and contracts with suppliersThis is a full time contract position starting mid fall and running through the end of the ski season. Renumeration will be $25.00-$28.00/hour plus tips.
