Production Manager, Edmonton Location: Sturgeon County, Alberta

Custom Cubes modifies shipping containers for commercial, industrial, office, and storage applications. We need a hands-on Production Manager to run day-to-day operations at our Edmonton facility. This role focuses heavily on production planning, project scheduling, procurement, workflow management, and quality control. You will coordinate multiple fabrication and construction projects, ensuring labour, materials, drawings, and equipment are ready when needed so projects finish on time.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning and Scheduling

- Manage and maintain the Edmonton production schedule across all active projects.
- Coordinate the labour, materials, equipment, and drawings needed to keep projects moving.
- Track schedules, milestones, material requirements, and completion dates using Microsoft Project and our ERP system.
- Spot scheduling, material, or labour bottlenecks before they impact deadlines.
- Set realistic timelines and hit committed completion dates.
- Monitor daily progress and adjust priorities as necessary.
- Work directly with sales, accounting, logistics, and management to move projects from order to delivery.

Procurement and Material Management

- Run procurement for all materials and components needed for Edmonton projects.
- Order materials with enough lead time to meet production schedules.
- Manage existing suppliers and find alternatives when necessary to control project costs.
- Track purchase orders, lead times, and deliveries to prevent shortages.
- Keep adequate inventory levels for common production materials.
- Provide accurate purchasing and project costing data to the accounting team.

Production and Shop Management





- Direct daily production activities and shop workflow.
- Assign and prioritize work for production staff based on project deadlines.
- Equip employees with the correct drawings, materials, and tools to do their jobs efficiently.
- Monitor productivity, reduce downtime, and improve overall shop flow.
- Enforce accountability for schedules, workmanship, and project completion.
- Drive continuous improvement for efficiency, organization, and profitability.

Quality Control and Project Completion

- Run quality control inspections throughout the production cycle.
- Coordinate final inspections before projects are cleared for delivery.
- Verify that completed modifications match approved drawings and our quality standards.
- Catch deficiencies early and fix them before projects leave the shop.
- Keep clear records of progress, inspections, and project closeouts.

Logistics and Project Coordination

- Work with the logistics team and third party carriers to schedule deliveries and inter-branch transfers.
- Prep and release completed projects for transport.
- Keep internal teams updated on production status and completion dates for accurate customer communication.
- Coordinate with our Delta facility when sharing projects, materials, or resources.

Skills and Qualifications

- Proven background in production management, manufacturing operations, fabrication,



or project-based construction.
- Solid understanding of production planning and project scheduling.
- Track record of managing multiple concurrent projects with varying scopes and deadlines.
- Experience with ERP systems and project management software.
- High proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel and Outlook.
- Direct experience using Microsoft Project is heavily preferred.
- Strong procurement and supplier management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and scopes of work.
- Organized and proactive at solving problems before they delay production.
- Experience managing trades, shop employees, or production teams.
- Familiarity with quality control and project closeout procedures.
- Clear communication skills for coordinating across production, sales, logistics, and management.
- Background in container modification, modular construction, steel fabrication, or welding is a major asset.

Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
