Job Purpose

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily processing and production of fish and seafood products. This role provides hands‑on leadership to production staff, ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, food safety compliance, inventory accuracy, and adherence to established production procedures. The Production Supervisor works closely with the Plant Manager to maintain production standards, optimize workflows, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions

- Supervise and lead production staff within the production department.
- Manage employee scheduling, staffing levels, workload distribution, and overtime requirements.
- Ensure quality control and quality assurance standards are maintained for all products entering and leaving the production room.
- Oversee frozen product processing activities, including cutting, portioning, and further processing.
- Coordinate with the Plant Manager regarding fresh and frozen inventory levels and replenishment requirements.
- Manage inventory requisitions entering and leaving the production room for all fresh and frozen products.
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking and maintenance of Work‑in‑Progress (W.I.P.) inventories, including production codes, dates, and product information.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with HACCP programs and ensure all required HACCP documentation is completed accurately and maintained daily.
- Ensure Production Room Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed by all team members.




- Partner with the Plant Manager to implement process improvements that enhance production efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in daily production activities as required, including cutting, portioning, packing, and other operational tasks.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience)

- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience within food processing, seafood processing, manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Knowledge of seafood cuts, portioning methods, and processing techniques.
- Experience working in a production or processing setting.
- Strong organizational, planning, and leadership abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate expectations and provide direction.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while leading production activities.
- Ability and willingness to work various shifts as required.
- Cutting and portioning experience is considered an asset.
- Willingness to work with raw seafood and meat products.
- Willingness to work in cold temperature environments.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move objects weighing 30+ pounds.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform repetitive tasks and prolonged periods of standing, lifting, and manual labor.
- Previous production experience is considered an asset; training will be provided.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety standards, food safety practices, and regulatory compliance.
