Diverse Community Support Services (DCSS) provides individuals (children, youth, and adults) with complex needs, their families, and social service organizations respite and specialized services tailored to each person’s goals and support requirements.

DCSS is currently hiring for:
Child and Youth Workers
Social Service Workers
Direct Support Workers
Developmental Support Workers

Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma in Child and Youth Work or a related field
Current Police Reference Check or Vulnerable Sector Check
Covid‑19 vaccination (minimum 2 doses)
Standard First Aid with Level C CPR
Certification in Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI, UMAB, etc.) or willingness to complete DCSS’s Crisis Intervention and Prevention training program
Proficiency in verbal, non‑verbal, and physical de‑escalation techniques
Knowledge and experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including implementing strategies, following Behaviour Support Plans, and supporting self‑regulation
Experience supporting individuals with Mental Illness,



Intellectual Disabilities and or Developmental Delays (Dual Diagnosis).
Daytime weekday availability is required to meet client and program needs

Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will provide support to individuals diagnosed with ASD, Mental Health Disorders, and/or Dual Diagnosis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assistance with daily living, hygiene, social and life skills development, educational support, emotional regulation, and community engagement. Staff are expected to follow individualized Behaviour Support Plans and apply consistent strategies that promote safety, independence, and meaningful participation, including supporting individuals during periods of escalated behaviour and heightened distress.
