Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and effective Barista to join our café team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee, beverages and light food, and maintain a clean and welcoming setting. This role offers an prospect to develop skills in food service, retail math, and POS systems within a vibrant café setting.

Prior experience in coffee or food industry environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure your success.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS

Duties
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks using proper techniques
Operate POS systems such as Light Speed for order processing and cash handling
Manage customer orders efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in compliance with food safety standards
Assist with food preparation and food safety protocols as needed
Restock supplies and ensure the café is organized and inviting




Engage with customers to create a positive experience, promoting sales of products and specials
Follow health regulations related to food handling and serving

Experience
Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
Familiarity with POS systems
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and managing sales transactions
Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
Knowledge of food safety standards, food preparation, and serving protocols is advantageous

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
