Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Carpenter to join our energetic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures and fixtures using a variety of hand and power tools. Your expertise will contribute to building high-quality projects that meet safety standards and client specifications.

This position offers an exciting prospect to work on diverse projects, from residential renovations to commercial builds, with a focus on craftsmanship and efficiency.

Duties
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
Instruct apprentices
Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.

Skills




Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and woodworking techniques
Experience with concrete forming, finishing, and drywall installation
Skilled in siding installation and restoration projects
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and welding equipment when necessary
Robust understanding of construction safety protocols and best practices
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in measuring and cutting materials accurately
Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, and working at heights when required
