About the role

We're looking for a Project Manager who can run complex technical programs and navigate the defence and government procurement environment that surrounds them. You'll own delivery on customer programs end to end — scope, schedule, budget, risk, and reporting — while also playing a central role in how we pursue, win, and administer government and defence contracts.

This is a hands-on role at a growing company. You'll be the connective tissue between our engineering and flight operations teams and our government customers, prime contractors, and partners. If you like building the process as much as running it, you'll do well here.

What you'll do

Program and project delivery

- Own the full lifecycle of assigned programs: scope definition, work breakdown, schedule, budget, resourcing, risk register, and change control.
- Build and maintain project plans, milestone schedules, and deliverable tracking, and keep them honest as conditions change.
- Chair internal and customer-facing program reviews; produce status reporting that stands up to external scrutiny.
- Track project financials against budget and forecast, working with Finance on earned value, milestone billing, and cost reporting.
- Identify risks and dependencies early, and drive them to resolution rather than logging them.

Defence and government procurement

- Monitor procurement opportunities (CanadaBuys, DND/PSPC solicitations, IDEaS and other innovation programs, allied and NATO channels) and assess fit.
- Lead and coordinate bid and proposal efforts: RFI, ITQ, and RFP responses, including compliance matrices, schedules, pricing inputs, and technical narrative coordination.




- Interpret solicitation documents and contract terms, and flag commercial, technical, or delivery risk before we commit to it.
- Support post-award contract administration: deliverables schedules, progress claims, contract amendments, and government reporting obligations.
- Maintain relationships with contracting authorities, technical authorities, prime contractors, and teaming partners.

Compliance and controls

- Work with internal stakeholders to maintain obligations under the Controlled Goods Program, the Contract Security Program, and applicable export control requirements.
- Ensure project documentation, records retention, and data handling meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Support quality and safety management processes as they apply to project delivery, including Transport Canada RPAS operational requirements where relevant.

Stakeholder management

- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers and partners.
- Translate between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders in both directions.
- Contribute to improving how we run programs — templates, cadences, tooling, and lessons learned.

What you bring

Required

- [5]+ years of project or program management experience delivering technical projects on schedule and on budget.




- Demonstrated experience with defence, aerospace, or government procurement — on either the vendor or the government side.
- Working knowledge of Canadian federal procurement processes and documentation (RFPs, standing offers and supply arrangements, statements of work, contract amendments).
- Strong written communication; you can produce a compliant, persuasive proposal section and a clear status report.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a small-company operating environment where you own the outcome, not just the plan.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada personnel security clearance [Reliability Status / Secret].

Nice to have

- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.
- Experience with RPAS/UAS, robotics, or complex hardware-software systems.
- Familiarity with the Industrial and Technological Advantages (ITB) Policy and Value Proposition requirements.
- Experience with US defence procurement (SAM.gov registration, FAR/DFARS, SBIR) or allied export markets.
- Existing security clearance in good standing.
- Experience with [project management tooling — e.g. MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Monday].

Eligibility Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Due to the nature of our contracts, this role requires eligibility for Canadian government security clearance and may be subject to Controlled Goods Program registration and Canadian export control requirements.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
