The Plumber performs skilled plumbing work at the journeyman level by installing, constructing, altering, repairing, maintaining and servicing plumbing systems. May perform preventative maintenance, demand maintenance,



and project work approaching the journeyman trades level on a variety of facility equipment and systems. May supervise designated maintenance staff and/or contractors as assigned. Provides related training and orientation to apprentices and designated staff as required.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceCertificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, Class B level Gas Fitter's license with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of British Columbia; Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section. Valid BC Drivers License. Two years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills And AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.Ability to organize and prioritize work.FBA: This temporary position may be extended or ended at the discretion of the hiring manager based on the departmental requirements.
