Job Description:

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a transport organization in Recent Westminster on a Contract basis. This two-month opportunity, with the possibility of extension/ permanent, is well suited to someone who brings solid accounts payable knowledge, solid accuracy, and a practical approach to handling a steady volume of invoice activity. The role offers a hybrid schedule after initial onboarding and provides the chance to work with a supportive accounting team that values collaboration, questions, and dependable execution.

Responsibilities:
Process a high daily volume of invoices with care and accuracy, ensuring records are entered correctly and on time.
Review and code both purchase order and non-purchase order invoices in accordance with internal accounting practices.
Upload invoice-related data from Excel into the organization's accounting system while maintaining data integrity.
Investigate and resolve vendor account questions by responding to inquiries and completing reconciliations as needed.
Support payment activities, including preparing documentation related to cheque runs and other accounts payable tasks.




Work closely with accounts payable colleagues and senior accounting staff to escalate issues and keep transactions moving efficiently.
Maintain organized financial records and verify supporting details to reduce discrepancies and improve processing accuracy.
Contribute to day-to-day accounts payable operations during the team's consolidated office setup and follow established procedures during onboarding.

Requirements:
Previous experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting role.
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a similar field.
Demonstrated ability to process invoices, code transactions, and perform accurate data entry.
Experience handling account reconciliations and responding to vendor inquiries.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including working with spreadsheet uploads and financial data.
Robust attention to detail with the ability to manage repetitive tasks without compromising accuracy.
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative accounting team.
