The Opportunity

What if your next nursing role didnt ask you to choose between stability and variety? This float Registered Practical Nurse position covers two outpatient addictions treatment clinics — Fort Frances and Dryden — and guarantees a minimum of 30 hours a week, even during slower periods.

You’ll be based out of whichever clinic is closer to home, travelling to the other site as coverage requires, and working closely with a small, dedicated clinical team at each location. This isnt a high-volume, high-turnover environment — its meaningful, relationship-driven work supporting people through addictions treatment and recovery.

Compensation is thoughtfully built out too: a competitive hourly wage, mileage reimbursement, travel and meal coverage, and after three months, a full benefits package including RRSP matching and paid wellness days.

What Youll Be Doing

• Providing nursing coverage across the Fort Frances and Dryden clinics, travelling between sites as scheduling requires
• Working alongside each clinics full-time nurse and Patient Care Coordinator
• Administering patient medications and treatments in line with clinic protocols
• Maintaining accurate nursing records and patient documentation

What Were Looking For

• Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Valid drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Comfort with a float schedule and regular travel between two clinic sites
• A compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patients in addictions treatment and recovery

Compensation & Work Model

$29.87 – $30.47 per hour. Mileage reimbursed at $0.58/km; hotel and a $50/day meal allowance provided for travel outside the home service area. After three months: vacation time, continuing education credit, licence fee reimbursement, 10 wellness days (5 paid/5 unpaid), and RRSP matching at 0.5%. Onsite role, based across the Fort Frances and Dryden clinics.

Location & Travel

Home base is whichever clinic (Fort Frances or Dryden) is closest to the candidate, with regular travel to the other site. Willingness to occasionally cover additional shifts in Longlac or Thunder Bay is a bonus, not a requirement.
