Job Title: Operations Supervisor - WeekendStatus: Full-timeLocation: Guelph – DeltaShift:12-hours/Shift - WeekendSchedule:12 hours shift (7 am to 7pm)– Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and 8 hours each other Monday (8am – 3pm with some flexibility)$75,300 to $125,300 plus bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and other perks and opportunities.The Role and Candidate:Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor will provide leadership to Production and Maintenance staff in order to achieve standards for safety, quality, cost, efficiency and productivity. The Operations Supervisor will also support and participate with the Production Management Team to focus on Continuously Improving processes and efficiencies within the operations.Key Accountabilities:Responsible for the overall effectiveness of the plant operations during assigned shift; this is a 'hands‐on' position that directly supervises all shift staff, including training, planning workloads, developing production schedules and providing coaching and progressive discipline where required. Emphasis is on time spent on the floor directly supervising to meet organizational goals.Champion and enforce Health & Safety, proactive approach to prevent accidents, incidents and near misses in the facility.Work closely with the production staff in the areas of sanitation, hygiene, GMP's and other Food Safety, Quality Control,



Quality Assurance programs.Work towards Process Excellence & Lean Manufacturing endeavors of the organizationResponsible for authorizing and monitoring employees' time, attendance and payroll informationCommunicate significant information to, and from direct reports.Maintain Production/Maintenance PM Programs, generate daily operating, efficiency reports as well as daily/weekly production mappingValidate all production records and CIP recordsDevelop a co-operative team approach in the Production Department and work closely with Distribution, Production Planners, Finance, Maintenance, Human Resources, Quality and Plant ManagementProvide flexible shift coverage including days, afternoons and nights. Willingness to work overtime as requiredOther projects as assigned by managementQualifications:Minimum 3 years post secondary education or minimum 5 years of related experienceMinimum 3 years supervisory experience in a HACCP regulated dairy, food or beverage processing environmentSolid knowledge of GMPs, including excellent sanitary habits and a strong understanding of HACCP and MSS as it applies to a food manufacturing environmentFamiliar with total quality management and continuous improvement processesGood decision-making & problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent interpersonal & communication skills, including written and verbalMechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilityProficient computer abilities using Microsoft Outlook, Word and ExcelSelf-motivated with the ability to multi-taskPhysically capable of performing the demands of the jobMust be punctual and diligentComputer skills and experience working with automated machinery
