We specialize in the operation and management of municipal and private water and wastewater systems, ensuring reliable service, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship for the communities and clients we support.Job DescriptionThe OpportunityThis is a senior-level operational position designed for an experienced skilled with strong technical expertise in both drinking water and wastewater treatment systems. We are seeking a versatile operator who can confidently oversee operations, troubleshooting, compliance, maintenance, and optimization activities across a variety of private water and wastewater facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide senior operational oversight for water treatment, distribution, wastewater treatment, and collection systems across Southwestern Ontario operationsSupport and guide less experienced operators through technical direction, mentorship, site checks, and operational follow-upMonitor treatment processes and make operational adjustments to optimize performanceTravel to sites across the region as required to inspect facilities, verify operating conditions, troubleshoot issues, and support field staffTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation,



and process issuesComplete operational records and regulatory reporting requirementsMonitor and respond to SCADA alarms and notificationsParticipate in on-call coverage and emergency response activitiesProvide mentorship and technical support to junior operatorsProvide operational support to other Aquatech operating areas when required and where practical based on geography and business needsQualificationsQualificationsMinimum 5+ years of progressive operational experience in both drinking water and wastewater systems, with senior-level experience preferredDemonstrated experience operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining water and wastewater treatment facilitiesStrong understanding of regulatory compliance and reporting requirementsExperience with compliance monitoring, process control, laboratory interpretation, and operational reportingStrong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitudeExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently across a large geographic region while maintaining communication with operations leadership and site staffEntry-level candidates with no prior operating experience will not be considered for this position.Required CertificationsValid Ontario Drinking Water Operator Certification (OIT, LSW, Level I, or higher). LSW and OIT licences are acceptable for the water systems currently operated under this role.
