The Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator for the interdisciplinary Disorders of Sexual Differentiation (DSD) Clinic is responsible for coordinating and delivering specialized, evidence-based care to pediatric patients across the lifespan from neonate to 18 years of age and their families navigating complex DSD conditions. Guided by the principles of Patient and Family Centered Care, ChildKind and Safest Together, the RN coordinator serves as a conduit partnering with patients and their families as well as the interdisciplinary team to ensure the care provided to the patient is compassionate, aligns with current best practice standards, and is culturally safe; supporting informed decision making for the patient and their family to optimize outcomes across the continuum of care will be essential in this role. This role leads the delivery of integrated care, improves patient outcomes and satisfaction, fosters collaboration among multidisciplinary specialties, and provides education and support to patients and families.

Acting as a central point of contact, the RN Coordinator ensures seamless, coordinated, and evidence-informed care across the continuum. This role will be integrated into the existing Pediatric Surgery Clinic and must be able to function to full scope and perform to full duties.

Description

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.

You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

PLEASE NOTE:



Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).

Current Basic Cardiac Life

Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years of current clinical experience in pediatric surgery, medicine, endocrinology, or complex care coordination.

Experience in a pediatric multidisciplinary or pediatric specialty clinic setting. Must be able to perform full duties including pushing, pulling, lifting, standing for long periods, and reaching. Must be able to perform CPR. Must be able to work in faced paced setting. Must be able to navigate complex, sensitive, and ethically nuanced situations.
