We provide a diverse range of roles across many locations and a career where you can make a meaningful impact.THE ROLEThe Research Officer - Human Performance helps shape the future of the Canadian Armed Forces by delivering evidence-based research services to support fitness assessment, training, and operational readiness.As part of the innovative virtual Pre-Basic Military Training (Pre-BMT) Fitness Readiness Program, you will play a critical role in preparing future CAF members for the physical demands of military service before they arrive at Basic Military Qualification (BMQ). Your work will contribute to reducing training attrition, enhancing the recruit experience, and supporting CAF reconstitution by strengthening the organization's ability to generate resilient, capable,



and mission-ready personnel for the future.The role conducts laboratory exercise testing; develops individualizedand group training programs; and contributes to datacollection design and methodology for physical fitness maintenance, and selection standards. The position evaluates emerging methods and external programs, translates findings into recommendations and briefings, and oversees employees, budgets, and compliance.Qualifications NeededEducation, Certifications and LicensesMaster's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Sciences or a related field AND some years of experience in a related fieldORBachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Sciences or a related field AND several years of experience in a related fieldANDClinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification (asset)Basic Life Support (BLS CPR) and First Aid certificationExperienceIn conducting laboratory fitness appraisalsIn managing the operations of a high performance laboratoryIn developing and implementing training programsIn developing and implementing policies and procedures for physical fitness evaluations, programs and trainingIn developing, producing and publishing promotional materialsIn developing research hypotheses, designs and methodologiesIn data collection and compilation of research dataIn using statistical software programsIn planning and conducting presentationsIn personnel administrationIn budget administrationCompetenciesClient focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
