JOB DESCRIPTIONLocation: Hybrid | Bedford, Nova ScotiaDuration: 6 monthsOur client, a leading financial institution in Bedford, Nova Scotia, is looking for a Cost Analyst to reconcile invoices and calculate internal business allocations following business-agreed methodology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.Typical Day in role:Investigate reconciliation discrepancies and coordinate resolution with vendor and trading businessDocument variances to best practice and provide to the team lead for approvalPrepare allocation templates and post to financial systemsArrange vendor payment through accounts payable or manual paymentManage special financial scenarios: accruals, prepayments, journals, etc. Prepare reports for and respond to inquiries from various parties, including the trading business, product control, and financial controlPerform cost analysis identifying material trends and drivers and/or opportunities for savings. Perform business analysis and testing in relation to onboarding of new invoices or enhancements to processing of existing invoicesWork on assigned projects in the areas of process improvement and automationMust-Have Skills:1-3 years of experience in Capital Markets, Securities Trading, Brokerage, or similar environmentFamiliarity with Capital Markets products and various associated supporting systems used within the organization (Fixed Income, Money Markets, Equities, Derivatives,



etc.)Understanding of accounting procedures and systemsHighly organized with an attention to detail and an ability to analyze informationAbility to communicate complex information clearly to trading business and senior managementComfortable with adhering to deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentIntermediate to advanced level knowledge of ExcelKnowledge of products and services in relation to assigned invoicesNice-To-Have Skills:Knowledge of global providers of 3rd party trade execution services including Brokers, Exchanges, Clearing and Settlement Agents, Securities Depositories, Custodians, and RegulatorsUnderstanding of Capital Markets organizational structure (including front office sales and trading, middle office, product control, back-office operations, regulatory/compliance, etc.)Advanced knowledge of VBA and SQLCPA / CFAEducation:Bachelor's degree in accounting or financeFP Inc. is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all team members and clients feel like they belong.
