Position: Payroll TechnicianPosting Type: ExternalStatus: 1 full-time, vacant positionHours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday - FridayCompensation Level: $66,341 - $88,454Application Opening: September 15, 2026Application Deadline: September 29, 2026The Brantford Police Service is currently accepting applications for a full-time Payroll Technician.PURPOSE OF POSITIONUnder the direction of the Supervisor of Finance and Administration, the Payroll Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our members. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payroll functions, processing employee time and attendance data, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and collective agreements.All members of the Finance team are expected to cross train in order to provide support in other areas of the Finance section in the event of absences.Shall, in the performance of duties, respect and protect human dignity and maintain and uphold the human rights of all persons.SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManagement of the Service's scheduling system (InTime)Process and reconcile payroll transactions accurately and in a timely mannerCollaborate with HR and other departments/units to resolve payroll or scheduling related issuesCalculate and process special pay adjustments, overtime, and other relevant payroll elementsPrepare payroll reports for management and conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracyRespond to employee inquiries regarding payroll/scheduling matters in a professional and timely mannerOther duties as required and/or assignedNOTE: The duties listed are not set forth for the purpose of limiting the assignment of work.
