Coast Animal Urgent Care is a new hospital opening in December 2026 in Abbotsford BC. We are a locally owned hospital, and one of the owners is an RVT! We are excited to build a respectful, qualified and kind workplace culture for our employees, while providing reliable, high‑quality urgent and emergency care for Fraser Valley pets in need.

At Coast AUC, Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) are essential clinical leaders in delivering fast, compassionate, and high‑quality urgent care for sick and injured pets. RVTs will provide skilled technical care, triage support, and patient monitoring to ensure every animal receives timely, appropriate, and safe urgent care. RVTs at Coast AUC will have the opportunity to use the full scope of their skills, as well as to build new competencies with the support of a highly experienced leadership team that is focused on our employees' professional development and well being.

Our RVT competency and pay grid extends from Level 1 (newly credentialed RVT) to Level 4 (Highly Experienced Lead RVT). Level 2 RVTs that uphold Coast Animal Urgent Care’s values of kindness, teamwork, and community‑focused service, and can independently manage technical aspects of patient care can expect to earn $27- $32 per hour. Level 4 RVTs that are amazing workplace culture leaders and have advanced technical skills can expect wages of $38 - 42 per hour.

Client Communication &

• Service Excellence

- ommunicates clearly and compassionately with clients and referring veterinarians during more high stress situations





Technical proficiency and patient care
- Supports veterinarians in collaborative treatment planning
- Performs triage support and initial assessments and emergency stabilization support (IV access, oxygen therapy, CPR assistance)
- Administers prescribed patient treatments including CRI’s and blood transfusions
- Independently manages anesthesia
- Oversees pre-surgical and post surgical facility and patient management
- Runs CPR

Safety, Compliance &

• Clinic Standards

- Vigilant for, and identifies to management promptly, any risks to safety, compliance & clinic standards
- Participates in inventory management, including controlled drugs

Professionalism &

• Team Contribution

- Demonstrates efficient workflow management in a fast‑paced setting

Technical Systems &

• Software Competency

- Runs in‑house diagnostics, including basic trouble shooting
- Manages diagnostic imaging systems, including radiography and CT positioning & safety

Work Hours The hospital will be open to pet owners for extended hours 7 days a week, so RVTs will work a mix of day and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may also be required to work up to 5 overnight patient monitoring shifts per month. This means that you will usually have 3 full days off every week.

Experience

- Level 1 RVT- up to 1 year
- Level 2 RVT- 1 to 3 years
- Level 3 RVT- 4+ years, including in an emergency or urgent care setting
- Level 4 RVT- 5+ years, including in an emergency, urgent or critical care setting

Pay: $25.00-$42.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
