Position Summary

Department / Research Program: RESP Program The project deals with the role of peroxisomes in the regulation of skeletal muscle homeostasis. The research assistant will work with the principal investigator to design and conduct projects focus on implementing the objective of documenting the role of peroxisomes in mitochondrial function in skeletal muscles. The incumbent will liaise with external collaborators including staff of Dr.

Nancy

Braverman. The incumbent will also engage in administrative duties related to the projects and assist with reports, manuscripts, and grant application

General Duties

- Assist in injecting adenoassociated viruses i.v. in mice and collecting skeletal muscles from animals,
- Isolate satellite cells and perform flow cytometry to characterize these cells,
- Perofrm mulitple ELISAs,
- Perform immunostaining,
- Perform qPCR,
- Interpret single nuclear RNA-seq using R language.

Education: Master's Degree

Field of Study: Immunology-Cell Biology

Work Experience: minimum of two years

Required Skills





- This position requires an advanced knowledge of oral and written French.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
- Decision making skills,
- Capacity to work autonomously or with teams with minimum supervision.

Additional information Status : Temporary Occasional: 5hours/week

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and work experience.
