This role is based out of Edmonton, Alberta and will work a Monday to Friday on day shift (7AM-4PM).The TeamYou will be part of a safety-first team where your contributions directly support efficient and sustainable metal recycling operations. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment, develop new skills through cross-training, and grow your career in a collaborative environment that values teamwork, continuous learning, and operational excellence.Work EnvironmentThis position is a full-time permanent role and is shop-based but will require time outside in the yard and occasional trips to the field.A Day in The LifeYou will be responsible for coordination and scheduling of repairs and preventive maintenance for a fleet of Heavy Trucks, Trailers, and various off-road equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring that all work in the shop is completed in a safe and timely fashion and that a clean,



organized work site is maintained.Lead by example and drive of all SECURE's safety policies and proceduresProvide proven leadership & explicit direction to heavy duty mechanics, welders and distributing workload to capitalize on individual and group strengths while ensuring balanced exposure to work experience and development opportunitiesPerform routine maintenance, such as oil, filter changes, etc.Air & Hydraulic Systems, Power & Drive Train, Steering and Suspension, Heavy Equipment AttachmentsFix one-off equipment issuesMake inspections and do basic diagnosticsMust be able to operate equipment to perform diagnostic testsVisual inspections to proactively discover future mechanical failure hazards / ensuring that the issues are rectified immediatelyAssist with general up-keep of the shop and yard as requiredEnsure tools and equipment are properly handled and storeCommunicate effectively with the safety department Conduct and partake in all safety related meetingsBe cognizant of and adhere to any site-specific safety requirements when in the fieldSkills, Experience & QualificationsJourneyman's Certification as Heavy Equipment Technician, through successful completion of a Provincially regulated Apprenticeship Program, or equivalent credentials/work experience as determined by Provincial guidelines/requirementsWill consider 3rd year apprenticesMinimum 3-5 years of related industry work experience or demonstrated competencyWelding experience an assetValid and current Class 5 Driver's License with clean driver's abstract (air brake endorsement preferred)Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely mannerExpert knowledge level and full competency with respect to maintenance, servicing, diagnosing malfunctions,
