Pivot Point specializes in intensive therapeutic interventions for children, teens, and adults with autism and other diverse abilities. We also run intensive therapeutic homes for children and youth with complex behavioural, emotional, developmental, and trauma-related needs.

About the role

As a Residential Child & Youth Support Worker in our therapeutic homes, you're one of the primary caregivers in that home. Behaviour Analysts, Behaviour Interventionists, Counsellors, and other professionals develop each young person's behaviour support plan and therapeutic programming. Your role is to bring those plans to life through day-to-day care, structure, co-regulation, relationship-building, and skill development.

Working with exceptionally high-needs clients can be challenging, but our staff describe this work as some of the most meaningful and rewarding aspects of their roles.

- Support when you need it: You'll work independently in the home, backed by individualized behaviour support plans, Home Coordinators & Managers, Program Management, Behaviour Analysts, Mental Health Counsellors, on-call support (including evenings and weekends), team channels for questions and peer support, and regular meetings and training.

What to expect We want applicants to have a transparent understanding of what this work involves before applying.

As a regular part of this role, you can expect:

- Supporting clients with complex and high needs, which may include histories of trauma, multiple diagnoses, developmental considerations, and behaviours.
- Responding to periods of escalation that may involve verbal or physical aggression, emotional crises, dysregulation, or property damage.



These situations can be physically and emotionally taxing.
- Assisting clients with personal hygiene and daily living needs. Depending on the client’s age and developmental functioning, this may include bathing and toileting support.
- Exposure to bodily fluids, including urine, vomit, and feces.
- Occasional exposure to lice and other communicable conditions.

You'll be trained in MANDT and supported by safety protocols and regular team check-ins.

What you bring

- Minimum 6 months' experience supporting children, youth, or individuals with complex behaviours, developmental disabilities, autism, mental health challenges, or related populations
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's licence & Reliable transportation
- A high level of commitment to scheduled shifts is a key requirement of this position.
- Basic computer skills and internet access
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn, grow, and accept feedback

Conditions of employment

- MCFD screening and clearance
- Emergency First Aid certification
- Completion of required agency training, including MANDT
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's licence and a reliable vehicle

Wage Compensation is provided on a per diem (per day) basis, with daily rates equivalent to approximately $25–$28/hour, depending on shift length, professional experience, education, and personal suitability. This rate aligns with the BC Employment Standards Act for “live-in home support workers” and does not include overtime.

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 24.0 per week
