Assistant Superintendent

Elk Ridge Resort is a four-season resort which boasts a 27-hole championship golf course located two hours from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and seven minutes outside of Prince Albert National Park. As the Superintendent, you will play a vital role in managing the upkeep of this environmentally rich and dynamic landscape.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Superintendent to join our team in an all-season role. While approximately 4–5 months of the year are focused primarily on golf course operations, the remainder of the year involves a variety of winter and property maintenance activities. We are therefore looking for an individual with strong irrigation and golf course maintenance experience, as well as the ability and willingness to take on a broad range of seasonal responsibilities.

The successful candidate will balance operational excellence with strategic approach, ensuring the course remains consistent in top condition. Reporting to the Resort Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will be a hands-on leader who fosters a motivated team, supports innovation, and contributes to Elk Ridge Resort’s long-term golf course and property maintenance standards.





Responsibilities The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining the property year-round, with responsibilities including:

- Golf course maintenance and daily turf operations
- Irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Supporting seasonal golf course preparation and conditioning
- Hiking and recreational trail maintenance
- Snow removal and winter property maintenance
- Skating pond maintenance and preparation
- General grounds and facility maintenance throughout the year
- Supervising and working alongside seasonal maintenance staff
- Operating and maintaining a variety of grounds maintenance equipment

· Supporting the Resort Superintendent with day-to-day maintenance operations and other seasonal projects as required.

Qualification

· Irrigation experience is required

· Musthold a valid Pesticide Applicator License or be able to obtain one within a reasonable period of employment.

· Solid understanding and experience in golf course maintenance

· Experience operating and maintaining turf and grounds maintenance equipment

· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills





· Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide leadership to seasonal staff

· Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

· Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards

· Ability to adapt to the changing demands of an all-season resort

Experience with winter operations, snow removal, trail maintenance, skating pond maintenance, or other year-round property operations would be considered a robust asset.

We are looking for a hands-on individual who takes pride in their work, maintains high standards, works well as part of a team, and is comfortable adapting to the changing needs of an all-season property.

Compensation: $55,000–$65,000 per year, based on experience.

This is a full-time, on-site, year-round position.

Duration & Schedule

This is a full-time, year-round position. During the golf season, the schedule will include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
