This position is a hybrid role.Reports to: Corporate ControllerRole purpose: As a member of the Finance team, the Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounts payable maintenance, processing and payment, preparation and posting of journal entries and bank reconciliations.Key accountabilitiesCompletion of day-to-day accounts payable functions, including:recording of invoices in the accounting systempreparation of accounts payable subledgersposting of paymentssort,



code and match invoicescorrespondence with vendorsProcessing and verification of employee expense reportsProvide supporting documentation for annual auditMonitor vendor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and made on timePreparation and posting of journal entries as required from time to timeCompletion of month end intercompany, bank and credit card reconciliationsMonth, quarter and year end working paper preparationExperience and qualificationsStrong attention to detailProven organizational skillsAbility to work independently and efficientlyWillingness and motivation to learn new processes and proceduresExperience in Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, Sage, Great Plains and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is not required but would be considered an assetKnowledge of the accounts payable function and general accounting proceduresDiploma or degree in accounting or another related subject1 to 2 years' experience in an accounts payable or general accounting role would be considered an asset but not requiredCompensation and benefitsBase salary: $40,000 - $60,000RRSP matching programComprehensive health and dental benefits packageHybrid work environment15 vacation days and 5 wellness daysProfessional development opportunities
