This role owns the full RFQ-to-quote lifecycle, ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive, and delivered in a timely manner, while aligning with shop capacity, technical requirements, and Fortis' quality standards. Success in this role is reflected in the ability to quickly build robust working relationships with internal subject matter experts, take full ownership of the estimating function, and consistently deliver high-quality, reliable quotations. & integrityCulture – a diverse team that values collaboration, innovation, and communityWhat You'll Be DoingComplete the full fabrication and welding quoting process from RFQ receipt through submission, consolidating and clarifying customer requirements into a clear and structured scope to ensure accurate pricing and a smooth transition following awardDefine manufacturing steps and calculate run times in collaboration with shop supervisors and coordinatorsCompile internal and external quotations and submit documentation with supporting pricing and supplier detailsParticipate in setting competitive pricing strategiesMaintain an active review of competitors to ensure competitive pricing and market practicesPrepare and facilitate quote/no quote meetingsDevelop, maintain, and improve estimating processes, tools, cost sheets, and quoting standardsIdentify risks related to execution, long-lead items, pricing volatility, and capacity constraintsCompare estimated costs to actual costs and apply lessons learned to improve future estimatesMaintain strong internal and external customer and vendor relationshipsEnsure compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements including CWB, CSA, ASME, and ANSIPerform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectivesWhat You Bring To The TablePost-secondary education is an asset, but not requiredMinimum three (3) years of work experience in estimating, and/or minimum 5 years in a lead role in steel fabricationWorking knowledge of metal fabrication and welding processes, with familiarity of applicable codes and standards including CWB, CSA, ASME, and ANSI.Proficiency in Microsoft Office,
