INLET RECOVERY HOMEThe Inlet Recovery Home is a Stabilization and Supported Recovery program that provides a structured, stable living environment for individuals in early recovery. The program provides short-term (30-90 days) housing and recovery supports for up to eight individuals as they transition from intensive treatment and towards the next phase of recovery.The program provides 24/7 staffing support to individuals, including case management and individualized recovery planning, peer support, life skills development, connection to employment and education opportunities, and support accessing long-term treatment programs or other mental health and addiction services. Note this program is a non-clinical recovery residence and is designed for individuals who have completed (or do not require) treatment services that involvemedically supervised withdrawal care.ROLE PURPOSEThis position will provide casework and support to residents of Inlet Recovery Home in order to enhance their quality of life, to ensure the orderly and safe operation of the facility, and to maintain the goals of supportive recovery and individualized service plans.REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPSReports and is accountable to the Program Manager or their designateParticipates actively in house, staff, and staff/resident meetingsParticipates as a member of the Connective staff teamLiaises with outside professionals from other agencies or government bodies as requiredSTATUS AND CLASSIFICATIONUnionized. preparation, and clean up; monitors food inventory.Ensures the safety and security of the residence by adhering to safety protocols and procedures; act safely in response to resident disturbances, unwelcome visitors, wellness checks, critical incidents, and emergencies, contacting appropriate staff, services, or authorities as required.Perform and record light janitorial duties, including the maintenance of clean indoor and outdoor common areas and ensuring rooms are prepared for new residents.As assigned, is responsible for the weekly grocery shopping for the residence and involves the residents in this process.As assigned, assists with the details of the operation of the facility, including but not limited to administrative support.As required, accompanies residents to appointments and community outings, following any restrictions imposed by the courts/review panels.OtherParticipates in staff and resident/staff meetingsAssists with the orientation and training of new staff and volunteersOther duties may be assigned from time to timeWORKING CONDITIONSFunctions independently while on shift and adheres to Connective's policies and proceduresWorks in a stressful environment at times, often dealing with clients in crisis situationsDemonstrates a level of physical fitness to effectively carry out the required duties of the program and to meet the operational needs of the residenceBe available to work flexible hours as needed; may include evenings/overnights/weekends, as determined by the Program Manager.Provides appropriate personal transportation with required business insurance coverage to enable the movement of the worker and resident, as required by the goals of the program.Is a member of CUPE local 1936-11QUALIFICATIONSDiploma, preferably in behavioural sciences, social work, community social services or criminology or equivalent with one-year related experienceExperience in the appropriate field and demonstrate a clear ability to respond well in crisis situationsAn understanding of providing service to people with different learning abilitiesDemonstrated experience in an applicable residential settingDemonstrated a good working knowledge of the technical details significant to the functioning of group residencesCompliance with the Assisted Living Registry (ALR) regulations, policies and procedures related to residential supportive recovery programs.Demonstrated the ability to teach skills and work effectively with othersKnowledge of theory, principles, and practices in the fields related to the particular residenceExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishREQUIREMENTSAbility to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records CheckAbility to successfully pass a reference checkCurrent Emergency First Aid CertificateValid class 5 driver's licensePersonal transportation that is in good repair, insured for business up to $1,000,000 for liability, and which can be used to transport clientsFood Safe Certification or willingness to obtain certification within one month of employment.COMPENSATIONAs Connective is a unionized environment, the starting wage is $27.53 to $31.57 per hour plus benefits enrollment as per the Collective Agreement.
