AltaSteel is looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused Scalehouse Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Scalehouse Manager, the Scalehouse Operator works in a rapid-paced industrial environment and must be accurate and detail oriented. The incumbent is the first point of contact for all drivers delivering and picking up products at AltaSteel, and must represent the company in a professional, courteous manner. In addition, the incumbent would enjoy working closely with colleagues and forming new working relationships daily with external stakeholders and internal departments.Responsibilities:Direct, scale and ticket all inbound and outbound rail cars and trucksRequest and organize trucks from outbound shipments daily, ensuring each customer gets the right product on time,



in the right quantitiesDaily verbal communication – in person and radio communicationDaily data entry into site specific computer programsExperience communicating via email in a qualified mannerInspect and ensure the quality of incoming productsFollow proper procedures and processesAdapt to and problem solve scenarios as they ariseOther duties as assignedQualifications and Skills:Experience as a Scalehouse Operator, Dispatcher or Shipper/Receiver will be considered an asset however other equivalencies will be considered.Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new software programsStrong safety and customer service mindsetStrong interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbalAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work in close quarters with colleaguesIn- town workMonday to Friday scheduleRotating shifts of 6:30 a.M. – 3:30 p.M. and 9:00 a.M. – 6:00 p.M. (or until the last truck has departed).
