People Development Coordinator - Education, Training and ResearchLocation: Edmonton, ABClosing Date: Until Suitable Candidate is FoundPosition Status: One (1) Full-time (40 hours/week), One Year Contract (with possibility of extension)The Otipemisiwak Métis Government is seeking a highly organized and collaborative People Development Coordinator to join our Education, Training and Research department in our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations - Education, Training and Research, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting employee growth, organizational learning, and workforce capacity across the organization.The People Development Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating employee onboarding, orientation, training, and professional development initiatives, ensuring staff have the knowledge, tools, and resources necessary to succeed in their roles. The position will oversee the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of internal training modules and learning resources, while ensuring employees complete mandatory training requirements and organizational systems training, including FDM, KETO, and other internal processes.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate employee onboarding, orientation, and probationary review processes to support successful integration into the organization.Develop, maintain, and continuously improve internal training modules, learning resources, and employee development materials.Conduct training needs assessments and collaborate with departments to identify workforce development priorities.Coordinate and facilitate in-person, virtual, and self-directed learning opportunities for employees.Monitor and track completion of mandatory training, system training (including FDM, KETO, and other organizational systems), and compliance requirements.Support managers in the administration, tracking, and completion of employee performance reviews and development plans.Implement evaluation tools and feedback mechanisms to measure training effectiveness and support continuous improvement.Coordinate leadership development, succession planning,



and employee capacity-building initiatives across the organization.Maintain accurate training records, development metrics, and organizational learning reports.Research, recommend, and coordinate external learning and professional development opportunities that align with organizational priorities.Perform other related duties as assigned.Skills & CompetenciesExceptional organizational and administrative skills with solid attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing demands.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.Strong instructional design, facilitation, and consulting skillsKnowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologiesProficiency with eLearning technologies and content development toolsAdvanced computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new softwareExperience using Microsoft 365 applications, especially SharePointDemonstrated innovation, initiative, and results-oriented mindsetExcellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to various audiencesHigh level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrityExperience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)Experience preparing reports, presentations, meeting materials, and professional correspondence.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with leaders, staff, partners,



and stakeholders.Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability.Knowledge of data management and digital filing systems is an asset.Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and issues affecting Métis people.
