This hands-on position is responsible for leading day-to-day maintenance activities, coordinating maintenance work, assigning priorities, supporting skilled trades employees, and identifying and resolving issues with machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure protected, reliable operations and consistent product quality. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining equipment, responding to daily maintenance issues, and training and mentoring other trades employees.Key Responsibilities:Coordinate maintenance schedules and assign work prioritiesEnsure that work orders are completed in a timely fashionMaintain a safe, clean and legally compliant workplaceMaintain equipment to support safe, efficient, high-quality productionOperate various types of machinery as requiredTroubleshoot, adjust, or perform minor maintenance for any machinery that requires attentionDiagnose problems and repair or replace defective partsPerform minor and major repairs to forklifts, trailers, semi-trailers, graders, and tractorsConduct preventive maintenance, including inspections of equipment to find defects before costly breakdowns occurRespond to emergency maintenance requests as requiredAdhere to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals and specificationsRead wiring diagrams, blueprints,



and other building specifications to plan repair workAdhere to all safety standards by following approved safe work plansParticipate in the planning and commissioning of new systems/equipmentOther duties as assignedQualifications:Journeyperson MechanicThree (3) to five (5) years of previous lead hand experience.Experience in a manufacturing setting is considered an asset.Experience with HVAC, heating systems and overhead cranes is an asset.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to create logically ordered objectives.Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to effectively guide a small team helping solve immediate problems keeping work on schedule.Safety training is an asset, but training will be provided as required.Solution-oriented when encountering problems.Valid Class 5 driver's licenceAbility to work independentlyWhat we OfferCompetitive Compensation.In-depth Safety Program.
