Our client is seeking an experienced actuarial leader to join their organization in a senior leadership capacity within the P&C; actuarial function. This role will lead reserving initiatives while acting as a key strategic partner to the broader business, providing insight across financial performance, risk management, and regulatory matters.

This position offers solid visibility across senior leadership and the opportunity to work on a broad range of strategic and technical initiatives beyond traditional reserving.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the valuation and reserving function across multiple P&C; lines of business

Provide Appointed Actuary support and oversee regulatory and statutory actuarial responsibilities

Deliver reserve adequacy analysis, financial insights, and actuarial recommendations to executive stakeholders

Partner closely with underwriting, finance, claims, reinsurance, and risk teams on business initiatives and portfolio performance

Support strategic projects involving capital management, business planning, profitability analysis,



and enterprise risk considerations

Advise senior leadership on actuarial trends, emerging risks, and business impacts

Drive continuous enhancement of actuarial methodologies, governance frameworks, and reporting processes

Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, transformation projects, and broader corporate actuarial matters

Mentor and develop actuarial talent within the team

Qualifications

FCAS / FCIA (or equivalent)

Significant actuarial experience within the P&C; insurance sector, with strong reserving expertise

Previous exposure to Appointed Actuary responsibilities or direct support to the Appointed Actuary function

Strong business acumen with the ability to provide both technical and strategic actuarial guidance

Experience presenting to executive leadership, regulators, or external stakeholders

Prior consulting exposure or experience supporting multiple stakeholders/business units is considered an asset
