Reporting to the Manager of Transportation, the Transportation Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of our Transport Team which is comprised of 100 plus Drivers that work in an extremely time sensitive industry. You will be working with your peers and team leads to ensure our goals around safety, security, on-time performance, and efficiency are met. As we are a 24hr/day, 7 days per week operation, you must be able to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for supervising a labour planner, team leads, drivers and driver assistantsResponsible for employee development and retentionResponsible for performance evaluation, coaching, counseling, and preparing corrective action for employees and liaises appropriately with HR and other supporting departments.Develops, recommends, and implements short- and long-term goals for the departmentValidates daily / weekly labour schedule and confirms operation is executing on the planPerforms airside ramp safety audits to ensure all relevant SOPs are being followedEnsures that all employees are in compliance with Transport Canada, and YVR Airport Authority security and badging requirementsResponsible to ensure the fleet is maintained to company standards including regular interior and exterior cleaningResponsible for safety, quality, and compliance with airline customer & regulatory requirements as well as company policies and proceduresConstantly strives to meet or exceed all financial goals related to labour utilization and expensesPrepares management reports (ex. Incident reports, labor reports, delay reports etc.) as requiredTrains and monitors employees on Gate Gourmet standard operating procedures to ensure maximum safety and productivityRamp Operations & Aircraft Catering ActivitiesPrecision Aircraft Docking: Supervise the safe positioning and docking of high-lift catering trucks against various commercial aircraft types (narrow-body and wide-body) according to precise airline alignment markers.Galley Stripping & Exchange: Oversee the efficient removal of incoming international/domestic galley equipment (stripping)
