Reporting to the Superintendent of the Value Stream, you will provide direct input and assistance on all operational and maintenance issues within Bitumen Production Organization. You will work together with staff from across the organization to ensure cross functional teams associated with your business unit are aligned and creating value. Internal groups will include but not be limited Bitumen Production Operations Team, Maintenance Team, Reliability Team, Asset Integrity Team, Continuous Improvement and other business areas to maximize production and lower operating costs. This position has no direct reports and will provide direct input to Shift Team Lead (STL) and Maintenance related to Operations goal setting and performance evaluations.Job location: Albian Site - Fort McMurray, AlbertaSafety sensitive position: YesKey Accountabilities:Work closely with the Operations Superintendent and STL's in the areas of plant efficiency, safety, training, and in particular daily plant operations and production and is the main point of contact for all support groups such as reliability, major projects, process engineering, continuous improvement, sustaining capitalDemonstrate a high level of knowledge of all aspects of the operation and a thorough understanding of the processes within the business unitResponsible for seasonal planning to ensure winterization and de-winterization is followed in a timely fashion and able to recognize and resolve issues or lapses in the operation organization and Mentor and consult with STL in order to drive consistency throughout the four shifts as well as the entirety of the business unitsAttend and lead BUT meetings and contribute to other information gatherings including production planning, operational status and maintenance planning/scheduling meetingsEvaluate compliance of Operational Procedures, Job Hazard Analysis, and Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and Coordinate Standar Operating Procedures (SOP) updating and also care and control of area fire inspection, leveraging audits completed by OperatorsProvide input into plant optimization initiatives and asset expansions at Albian. Conduct weekly field tours focused on safety, problem identification and resolution, and housekeeping.
