Canadian Tire Corporation is seeking a motivated Analytics Engineer to join the CTC Triangle Program – Loyalty Data Product Engineering team in Toronto, ON, reporting to the Engineering Manager. This team leverages a broad range of data technologies and analytical techniques to design, develop, and automate data pipelines and processes consumed across the organization both analytically and operationally.What You'll DoMonitor and maintain the quality of Loyalty domain data feeds, including incident investigation, resolution, and ongoing data quality governanceSupport partnership initiatives through end-to-end testing, post-launch data validation, and issue remediation to ensure accurate data integration and reportingContribute to the True North program by performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validating Loyalty-related data tables, business processes, and downstream impactsManage stakeholder communications related to Loyalty domain data changes, providing subject matter expertise, and supporting ad hoc business and operational requestsFollow development best practices under the guidance of senior team members, combining automation and CI/CD with a culture of review and collaborationAssist in implementing and testing data pipelines to monitor and validate model assumptions and performance adhering to coding standardsLearn and understand business and operational processes to translate stakeholders' requirements into technical requirementsSupport IT and business stakeholders by assisting in decision-making processes with data and data productsIdentify and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise,
providing scalable resolutions with follow-through under supervisionContribute to ad hoc projects that leverage multiple internal and external sources of data such as point-of-sale, loyalty issuance, product hierarchy, and customer dataWhat You BringBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or a related field1+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data analyticsHands-on experience in PySpark and exposure to pipeline orchestration tools such as AirflowKnowledge of database management systems (e.G., Hadoop & Hive, MySQL, Databricks)Self-sufficient in interpreting, decoupling and testing of complicated queries, joins, subqueries in SQLBasic understanding of delta tables, ETL pipeline concepts, and change data captureFamiliarity with Git for version controlUnderstanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principlesBasic knowledge of bash scripting and cloud SDKs for automationStrong collaboration and communication skills; proven ability to work effectively in a team environmentExperience working in the retail sector, especially with POS data is an assetFamiliarity with Databricks, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is an assetBenefitsBroadband salary range: $53,000 – $88,000 (typical hiring range: $53,000 – $75,000)Comprehensive benefits and retirement programsPerformance incentives and continuing education programsMental health benefits of $5,000 per year for eligible employees and familiesCareer growth opportunities and product discountsCanadian Tire Profit Sharing for eligible employeesBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or a related field; 1+ years of qualified experience in data engineering or data analytics; hands-on experience with PySpark and SQL; knowledge of database management systems including Hadoop, Hive, MySQL, or Databricks.
