Annual Salary: $74,143.52 to $92,679.40 (commensurate with experience)

St. Joseph’s Foundation is seeking an experienced and relationship-focused Senior Philanthropy Officer to join our fundraising team.

Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Senior Philanthropy Officer manages a portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects and leads annual giving initiatives designed to grow and diversify philanthropic revenue in support of St. Joseph’s Health Centre and its five operating entities.

This role is responsible for building meaningful donor relationships, achieving revenue targets, strengthening donor engagement and retention, and connecting donors with opportunities to make a meaningful impact through philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Portfolio Management

- Manage and grow a portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects.
- Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal strategies using a moves-management approach.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with donors and identify opportunities to increase engagement and philanthropic support.
- Develop compelling proposals, cases for support and donor communications aligned with donor interests and organizational priorities.
- Lead donor solicitations and secure philanthropic commitments in support of revenue targets.
- Identify donors with major gift potential and collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy on appropriate strategies.

Annual Giving

- Lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of annual giving initiatives to acquire, retain, and upgrade donors.
- Develop and coordinate annual appeals and direct-response fundraising through mail, email, digital and personal outreach.
- Create donor-centered messaging that demonstrates the impact of philanthropic support.

Fundraising Strategy & Engagement





- Contribute to Foundation fundraising strategy and support major gift, capital, and other fundraising initiatives.
- Build effective relationships with St. Joseph’s Health Centre leaders, clinicians, and internal partners to identify funding opportunities and develop compelling cases for support.
- Represent St. Joseph’s Foundation and St. Joseph’s Health Centre with donors, volunteers, community partners, and other external partners.
- Monitor portfolio activity and provide accurate forecasting, budgeting, performance analysis, and revenue reporting.
- Maintain accurate donor records in the fundraising CRM.
- Ensure fundraising activities comply with organizational policies, privacy requirements, brand standards, and applicable legislation.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Five to seven years of progressive fundraising, philanthropy, or advancement experience, with demonstrated responsibility for donor relationship management and revenue generation.
- Experience in healthcare philanthropy or another complex fundraising environment is an asset.
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset.
- Demonstrated success in donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and annual giving.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Solid writing skills and the ability to develop compelling donor communications and cases for support.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet revenue targets.
- Experience with DonorPerfect or a comparable fundraising CRM is an asset.
- Valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel and attend donor meetings and events outside regular working hours.

Pay: From $74,143.50 per year
