This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy.The position will be on an 5/2/4/3 (9.5 – hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $170,000 to $220,000 CAD.Key result areas in this role include:Provide technical support to operational teams in compliance with Work Health and Safety legislation, Canadian Standards, environmental procedures, and site regulationsPromote a Zero Incident culture through Visible Felt Leadership, encouraging safe work conditions and practicesEnsure effective processes for hazard and incident identification, reporting, and management; proactively address risk-taking behavioursUphold health, safety, and security standards within your workplace and across the Evolution Group by identifying and mitigating potential risksMentor and lead engineers and technical staff by setting clear accountabilities, conducting regular check-ins, and supporting their development through performance reviewsOversee the preparation of short-term mine plans—including forecasts, stope designs, development, and drill/blast prints—while considering safety, profitability, and product qualityGuide drilling and blasting parameters and compile data to support accurate planning, scheduling, and designDevelop and maintain strong standards for development and stope planningStrengthen collaboration between technical and operational teamsEngage with contractors to implement leading drill and blast practices at Red Lake Mining OperationsProvide technical support for operational procedures and risk management initiativesDrive continuous improvement through best practices, the plan-do-act-check cycle,



and ownership of business improvement projects to achieve high-quality mining outcomesComplete end-of-month reporting and reconcile planned designs with actual outcomesAbout youAs the Superintendent Mine Planning, you will have a Bachelor of Mine Engineering with active P'Eng designation (or ability to obtain).It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:Technical ExpertiseProven experience in underground hard rock mining in a similar roleStrong technical knowledge in narrow vein gold mining, including planning, scheduling, ventilation, and drill & blastAdvanced user of Deswik Suite; proficient in MicrosoftOffice and ProntoSkilled in mine design, project planning, scheduling, financial evaluation, and cost analysisLeadership & CommunicationStrong leadership and project management skills; able to coach, mentor, and supervise technical staff and contractorsEffective communicator with the ability to present complex ideas to non-technical audiencesBuilds strong cross-functional relationships and fosters a culture of continuous improvementPersonal AttributesResults-oriented with high self-discipline and professional standardsAnalytical, detail-focused, organized, and proactiveCulturally sensitive and committed to safety and cost efficiencyAt Evolution, as our name suggests, change and transformation is in our DNA.
