Description The Senior Rehabilitation Operations Lead will work with the Rehabilitation Manager to contribute to the efficient operation of the Rehabilitation Department, including coordination and delivery of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology services.

This role provides clinical guidance, coordination, and day-to-day operational support, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across services. The incumbent supports clinical workflows, assists with caseload coordination and service delivery, and helps address operational needs as they arise.

Acting as a resource and mentor, the Senior Rehabilitation Operations Lead promotes evidence-based practice, supports quality improvement initiatives, and fosters effective interdisciplinary collaboration. The role operates in a lead capacity without formal supervisory authority and works closely with the Manager to support departmental decision-making and clinical performance processes.

Qualifications

Experience

- Over five (5) years’ experience in rehabilitation setting as a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist or other applicable discipline

Registration/licensure

- Registered in good standing with applicable regulatory body

Education

- Post-secondary education in one of the core rehabilitation areas (i.e. Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

- Strong leadership ability with demonstrated coaching and mentorship skills
- Strong time management skills to support caseload, while also supporting clinical team as required
- Strong knowledge of interdisciplinary care, hospital workflows, and patient-centered service delivery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and build relationships
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong ability to adapt to change and support evolving operational needs
- Demonstrated sound judgment and professionalism
- Reliable attendance record
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Experience working within a hospital/acute care setting strongly preferred




- Experience with quality improvement and program development preferred

Working Conditions

Physical environment

- Indoor clinical care setting with overhead lighting and noise associated with shared spaces, subject to interruption
- Requires coordination of fine and coarse movements with moderate consideration for speed

Physical demands

- Medium physical exertion for intermediate periods of time
- Walking and standing for extended periods of time, with intermittent opportunity to sit
- Some bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching during activities
- Assisting patients with transfers and ambulation as required

Mental demands

- Long periods and high degree of concentration for most working hours

Hazards

- Potential exposure to infectious diseases, blood and blood/air borne pathogens, and bodily fluids
- May occasionally be exposed to behaviorally difficult clients
