They play a critical role in ensuring that these systems operate effectively and reliably.Roles and ResponsibilitiesAdhere to the Academy HSE program's guidelinesDemonstrate a strong commitment to Academy's safety program, values, and corporate cultureInterpret isometric drawings accurately for fabrication purposesAlign and secure pipes in accordance with isometric drawingsArrange and mark pipes for precision cuttingOperate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipmentUtilize hoisting and lifting equipment effectivelyOperate welding machines that have been pre-setPossibility of being tasked with operating a skid steerBe open to working adaptable schedules as requiredEffectively communicate in a professional manner with individuals at all organizational levelsMentor and collaborate closely with Pipefitter ApprenticesAttend daily toolbox meetings for project coordinationConsistently and correctly follow established proceduresWear the appropriate personal protective gear at all timesMaintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the work areaReport any personal injuries, regardless of severity, and seek necessary medical attention when requiredQualificationsPossession of a Journeyman Pipefitter CertificationFamiliarity with industry standards and best practicesHold a valid Class 5 driver's licenseOver six years of experience in fabrication shop workProficiency in the English language is mandatoryCapable of lifting at least 50lbs and physically fit for fabrication shop tasksRequired to have a valid CSTS-09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certificationMandatory possession of WHMIS 2015 certificationSkillsEffective, self-managing, good problem‐solving skills, planning, and priority setting skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsWorking ConditionsThe incumbent is required to work in the fabrication shop with moderate noise and numerous hazardous fumes.Physical RequirementsThe incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing weld specifications for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to stand and sit for extended periods of time and will require good physical attributes for walking on uneven ground, climbing, confined space entry, limited lifting, and sitting.
