TheCommunity Integration Practitionerdeliverssettlement services for seniors, women,menand youth under the following components: a) Needs Assets Assessments and Referrals, b) Information and Orientation, c) Employment Related Services, d) Community Connections and e) Support Services.Reports to: Senior Settlement Program ManagerKey Duties & Responsibilities:Performs formal review of newcomer needs across a broad spectrum of settlement areas (e.G.Language, employment, housing, community connections, etc.)Develops Settlement Plans and follow-up support for newcomers based on identified needs with consideration of government, professional, business and community services availablePerforms clients' data entryRefers or arranges clients to appropriate services as needed (e.G.Crisis counselling)Provides newcomers with client-centered settlement and integration information and orientation services about Canadaplusthe community they intend to settleDeliversone-on-one consultations via various communication methods (e.G.In-person, email, online and by phone)Provides information and orientation through workshops, group sessions and classesLiaiseswith government, professionalgroups, businesses, schools and community services as necessary to ensureprovision of up-to-date,accurate and detailed information to newcomers and client settlement needsFacilitates guided visits for newcomers to foster familiarizationwithexisting government and community resourcesPlans and implements large and small eventsPerforms cultural interpretation between clients and service providersPerforms interpretation for workshop speakers where applicableTranslatesresources for newcomersPlans,implementsandassistsinevents such as job fairs, community networking events and more.Conductsoutreachto localcommunityorganizations (e.G.Public libraries, community recreation and senior'scentres, government institutions, schools, food banks, cultural and faith-based institutions, and other local community and social networks)in ordertoconduct program promotion and recruit new clientsProvides settlement assistance and support to newcomers arriving in YVRAttends program meetings on service delivery issuesProvides up-to-date information tothesupervisorwithin the service regionregardingchanges to community services, government departments and proceduresWorks on improving program service outcomes and day-to-day servicesfornewcomers by participating in professional developmentprogramsas assignedDocuments clients' needs, settlement plans, attendance records, and program outcomes to client databasePerforms other related duties as assigned bysupervisorEducation, Training and Experience:Bachelor'sDegreeinSocialorHumanSciencesExperience in working withnewcomers, refugees, temporary foreign workers, naturalizedcitizensand international studentsExperience with multicultural clientele and immigrant related servicesPossession ofCertified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) Certificationis considered asan assetExperiencein conducting workshops and eventsExperiencein one-on-one settlement service deliveryKnowledge ofsettlement information and resourcesKnowledgeof the local geographic areaJob Skill and Abilities:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonaland intercultural communicationskillsAbility to work independently and as a part of a teamSecond language may be an asset whenrequiredto meet operational needs in serving communities with specific language requirementsExcellent technical skills in MS Office and web-based applications(e.G.MS Teams and Zoom)Excellentresource,
