Okanagan Gondola is seeking a motivated and safety-focused professional to join our Operations team and support the reliable operation of our gondola's electrical, control, and safety systems.This role is critical to ensuring the safe and uninterrupted operation of one of British Columbia's newest tourism attractions located minutes from Vernon above Kalamalka Lake.About the RoleReporting to the Operations Manager, the Gondola Lift Maintenance Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving all electrical and control systems associated with the gondola, terminals, towers, and supporting facilities.The successful candidate will work closely with the Lift Maintenance team, manufacturers, and contractors to ensure system reliability, regulatory compliance, and guest safety.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on gondola electrical systemsInspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair: Motors and drives, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), PLC control systems, Safety circuits and interlocks, Sensors and monitoring devices, Low-voltage and communication networks, Power distribution systems, Emergency backup systemsSupport daily start-up, shutdown, and operational testing proceduresDiagnose electrical faults and respond to equipment failures efficientlyRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manualsMaintain maintenance records, inspection reports,



and troubleshooting documentationAssist with regulatory inspections, annual maintenance programs, and commissioning activitiesSupport emergency response procedures and lift evacuations when requiredEnsure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, manufacturer requirements, and company policiesAssist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and performanceQualificationsRequiredRed Seal Industrial Electrician or Red Seal Construction ElectricianValid Class 5 Driver's LicenceMinimum 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experienceExperience troubleshooting motors, drives, and control systemsStrong understanding of electrical schematics and technical documentationStrong commitment to safety and teamworkPreferred AssetsPassenger ropeway, gondola, chairlift, ski lift, or amusement ride experienceExperience with PLC programming and troubleshootingKnowledge of VFD systems and industrial automationExperience with 24 Volt systemsExperience with SCADA or monitoring systemsFall Protection certificationStandard First Aid certificationLockout/Tagout/ Tryout trainingWhat We're Looking ForYou are a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a rapid-paced environment and takes pride in keeping critical systems operating safely and efficiently.
