Transitional Housing - Program Supervisor Garden River First Nation Office & Administration, Social Services POSTED: 4 days ago Employer Garden River First Nation ES Job ID 8181 Closing Date September 24, 2026 Salary $ 37.42 (Pending Education & Experience) Duration Full Time Job Description Sunday to Saturday Location: 7 Shinkgwauk Street, Garden River First Nation, ON Garden River First Nation is looking for a Program Supervisor Ininzhimo Transitional Housing who is responsible for the development and delivery of therapeutic methods of healing, specific to victims of abuse and violence. They will play an integral role in executing the strategic direction of the Ininzhimo Transitional Housing, setting and delegating explicit priorities in the development of initiative and programs. What You Will Do Oversee daily operations of the Transitional Housing program and ensure services are delivered fairly, consistently, safely, and respectfully. Coordinate resident intake, review and assess referrals, and work with designated service providers to support appropriate client services. Supervise and support staff, including Transitional Support Workers, Maintenance personnel, and System Navigators, while providing guidance, delegation, and issue escalation. Manage staff schedules and shift coverage to maintain effective 24/7 operations, including responding to absences, vacancies, and short-notice call-ins.



Monitor the safety and well-being of residents and staff, respond to operational concerns, and support incident response, documentation, and follow-up. Maintain accurate reporting and documentation, communicate operational updates to the Program Manager, and support administrative and program requirements. Promote culturally safe, trauma-informed, and respectful services while supporting reconciliation, Indigenous engagement, and meaningful relationships with First Nations and Indigenous service providers. Required Skills A post-secondary degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminology, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a 24-hour facility supporting victims of violence. Strong supervisory, case management, program planning, crisis intervention, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of domestic violence, mental and emotional health, treatment procedures, assessment, and the criminal justice system. Demonstrated understanding and respect for First Nations culture, values, traditions, and culturally safe practices. The ability to lead with professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, sound judgment, respect, and lateral kindness while working effectively with staff, clients, and community partners.
