The BAS Technician is responsible for the operation, programming, monitoring, graphics, commissioning support, client training, preventative maintenance, energy management and operating cost reduction at a campus of facilities.. The BAS Technician will be a key team member who works on a wide variety of assigned tasks to meet the needs of our clients.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESMaintenancePerforms maintenance to ensure the highest level of efficiency without disruption to the businessDiagnoses and repairs complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systemsRepairs/replaces BMS devices, controllers, cabling, and components as requiredTroubleshoots/repairs mechanical and electrical systemsMaintain system reliability, occupant comfort and operational efficiencyMonitors system performance, alarms, faults, user access permissions and cybersecurity controlsProvides technical assistance to team membersEscalates issues to the maintenance team lead as neededProvides training to all site operations teams to include as part of onboarding process and reoccurring trainingPerforms routine maintenance tasks in accordance with BGIS Safety Policy and ProceduresBe a part of an on-call rotationBuilding Automation Systems and SoftwareProgramming and graphics of HVAC equipment via software and verify system performance.Integrate building automation software with third-party systems via network connections and integration.Simulate sequences of operations to verify proper operating parameters of systems and their performance by using the necessary software.Download software to controllers and completion of in office adjustments where necessary.Test, inspect, and troubleshoot low-voltage power equipment and systems, network communications, peripherals, valves, actuators, relays, and sensors during commissioning.Verify the installation, commissioning,



and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems related to the BAS.Perform inspections, tests, adjustments, and evaluations of low voltage electronic components and assemblies in accordance with manufacturer specifications and tolerances.Utilize technical manuals and written instructions when deemed necessary to calibrate electrical and electronic equipment and instruments.Commission BAS systems verify end-to- end and report/resolve anomalies.Provide commissioning verification checklists to the appropriate Project Manager throughout the commissioning process of projects.Best Practice and Knowledge MaintenanceStrong understanding of HVAC equipment & mechanical components and how it is related to control strategies and theories.Documentation and ReportingProvide BMS programming, configuration and database recordsProvide graphics, schedules, sequence-of-operation documentation, and system architecture documentationCreate energy consumption and KPI trend reportsProvide backup verification and disaster recovery recordsProvide assistance in preparing specifications and reports for related projects of responsibility by collecting and compiling operational data.Completes service reports and PM checklistsKNOWLEDGE & SKILLSHigh school completion plus training or equivalent experience in Building Management SystemsJCI Metasys specific experience and training highly desiredProven ability to self-learn, utilize existing and new technologies.Minimum 5+ years related experience.Proficient in multiple system integration strategies and applications.Strong interpersonal skills.The ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.Ability to work in a process driven environment.Effective time management and multi-tasking abilities.Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems.Extensive knowledge of BAS system installation and design.Extensive Knowledge of multiple system integration strategies and applications.Extensive knowledge of network wiring standards and protocols.Current knowledge of fire, life, safety and building codes and standards and ability to research and apply related codes and standards
