Cross Country Canada Supplies & Rentals Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Labourer to join our Heavy Equipment Service Department.

The Service Labourer will provide general labour and support to Heavy Equipment Technicians and other service personnel. The successful candidate will assist with preparing equipment for service and rental, maintaining a clean and organized shop and yard, and completing a variety of general labour tasks to support the efficient operation of the Service Department. The ideal candidate is physically capable, mechanically inclined, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist Heavy Equipment Technicians with general service, repair, and maintenance activities
- Prepare heavy equipment and attachments for service, inspection, delivery, and rental
- Clean and wash heavy equipment, attachments, tools, and shop areas as required
- Assist with moving, staging, and organizing equipment, parts, tools, and materials throughout the shop and yard
- Operate shop equipment and material-handling equipment, including forklifts, as required and authorized
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment, parts, and materials
- Perform basic equipment preparation and general maintenance tasks as directed
- Assist technicians with the removal, installation, cleaning, and organization of parts, components, hoses, and tools
- Maintain service areas, workstations, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and organized condition
- Sort and organize parts, scrap metal, supplies, and other materials
- Clean and maintain shop tools, equipment, hoses, and other service-related items
- Assist with maintaining an organized inventory of service supplies and consumables
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safety-conscious work environment
- Work cooperatively with mechanics, electricians, service personnel,



and other departments
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a service, shop, construction, equipment rental, or industrial environment is considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude or an interest in heavy equipment and mechanical work is considered an asset
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment is considered an asset
- Strong safety-conscious attitude and commitment to following safe work practices
- Physically capable of performing manual labour and repetitive tasks
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Solid work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently
- Valid driver's licence is required

Working Conditions

- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors
- Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions throughout the year
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Physically demanding work involving standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
- Exposure to noise, dust, dirt, grease, oils, and other typical heavy equipment service shop conditions
- Repetitive tasks may be required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required
