Description

The Site Operations Manager is the senior operational leader for a Sentrimax Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility and holds full, day-to-day responsibility for the site. This role is accountable for safety, quality, on-time delivery, people, and site-level cost performance across all shop, field service, parts, and rental activities.

Manager leads all site personnel, directly and through shop management, and is the site’s primary point of contact for customers, vendors, and auditors. Working closely with the company’s leveraged functions, including Sales, Finance, and Human Resources, the Site Operations Manager ensures the site delivers mission-critical centrifuge maintenance, repair, and overhaul services on time, on budget, and in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

Manager reports directly to the Company's Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Key Responsibilities:

Site Leadership & Accountability

- Hold full day-to-day responsibility for the Edmonton site, including safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Set site priorities, allocate resources, and make operational decisions to meet commitments to customers and the business
- Lead all site personnel, including shop management, office staff, and field service technicians, directly or through supervisors
- Establish, track, and report site key performance indicators (KPIs) to the COO, such as safety incidents, turnaround time, on-time delivery, labour utilization, rework, and job margin
- Build a site culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with Sentrimax’s values of excellence, transparency, and integrity
- Serve as the senior site representative with customers, vendors, auditors, and visitors
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of site data entered into the company’s ERP and timekeeping systems, including job, labour, purchasing, and inventory records

Operations & Job Execution

- Oversee the full job lifecycle, from receiving, disassembly, and inspection through quoting, parts procurement, repair and machining, reassembly, testing, shipping, and site installation
- Own shop scheduling, capacity planning, and workload balancing across shop and field service activities Monitor and optimize repair turnaround times, labour utilization, and shop capacity through data analysis and workflow improvement
- Ensure accurate and timely quotes for repair and field service work in partnership with Sales and Engineering
- Manage change orders and ensure scope, pricing, and schedule changes are properly communicated and executed
- Communicate job progress, delays,



and issues proactively to customers and the sales team
- Oversee site support for parts sales and rental equipment activities

Working with Leveraged Functions (Sales, Finance & HR)

- Sales: Partner with Sales and Business Development on customer requirements, quoting, pricing inputs, and site capacity to support new work and key account relationships
- Finance: Work with Finance on site budgets, forecasts, job costing, work-in-progress (WIP), and invoicing readiness; drive site cost control and margin performance
- Human Resources: Partner with HR on workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, and employee relations for the site
- Coordinate with Engineering and other Sentrimax branches to maintain consistent processes, standards, and best practices

People Leadership & Development

- Hire, develop, and retain a skilled site team in partnership with HR
- Set clear expectations and hold staff accountable for safety, performance, timelines, quality, and adherence to procedures
- Develop and implement training plans, skills matrices, and SOPs with shop management
- Conduct performance reviews and support succession planning for key site roles
- Provide ERP support and user training for site staff

Safety, Quality & ISO Compliance

- Own site health and safety performance and ensure compliance with Alberta OHS legislation and Sentrimax safety programs
- Ensure daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings are held and properly documented
- Maintain site compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and internal Sentrimax quality and training requirements
- Lead non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions
- Lead the site’s participation in internal and external ISO audits, including documentation, records, and operational explanations

Procurement & Inventory

- Oversee procurement and inventory control for parts and materials
- Secure and maintain the on-site inventory of parts and other inventory items, including proper storage, controlled access, and accurate counts
- Manage supplier relationships to leverage buying power, improve lead times, and minimize costs
- Ensure purchasing aligns with job requirements and the site budget
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for customer equipment, including cross-border shipments as required





Site Security & Facilities

- Manage the daily opening and closing of the shop, buildings, and grounds, including security and lock-up procedures
- Serve as the responsible person and primary site contact for alarm monitoring, security, and after-hours emergency call-outs
- Serve as the primary site contact for insurance matters, including inspections, claims, and risk assessments
- Act as the primary site contact for the landlord, utilities, municipal authorities, and facility service providers
- Manage the maintenance of company assets, such as the facility, grounds, shop equipment, tooling, rental fleet, and company-owned vehicles, including routine and scheduled maintenance programs, to keep them in safe and reliable working condition

Continuous Improvement

- Identify and implement improvements that increase safety, quality, throughput, and cost performance
- Lead process standardization and share best practices with other Sentrimax branches
- Drive effective use of the ERP system for scheduling, job tracking, inventory, and reporting

Requirements: Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field preferred; candidates with extensive relevant experience will be considered
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in industrial operations, manufacturing, or MRO/repair services, including at least 5 years in a senior site or plant leadership role
- Proven track record of site-level accountability for safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, including supervisors and skilled trades, in a shop or plant environment

Knowledge & Skills

- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and own results
- Solid business and financial acumen, including budgeting, job costing, and KPI management
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational data and solve complex operational challenges
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and occupational health and safety requirements
- Proficient with ERP systems for operations, inventory, scheduling, and job costing
- Familiarity with rotating industrial equipment, including centrifuges, gearboxes, and electric motors; decanter centrifuge experience is an asset
- Customer-focused, with experience managing customer relationships and expectations
- Able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
- Skilled in conflict resolution and building a positive, engaged work workplace
