Our client, a recognized leader in their industry, is expanding their team in the Greater Montreal Area.The OpportunityAplin is proud to partner with a leading manufacturer in the HVAC and thermal management sector to recruit a Chiller/Industrial HVAC Technician based in the Montreal region.This is a highly hands‐on technical role focused on the assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, including chillers and heat pumps. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, R&D, and production teams throughout the full product development lifecycle, supporting both prototype and production units in a fast‐paced manufacturing workplace.This role is well‐suited for an experienced HVAC, refrigeration, or electromechanical technician who enjoys working with complex mechanical and electrical systems and contributing to innovation and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Assembly & FabricationAssemble components such as compressors, heat exchangers, piping systems, valves, and structural assembliesPerform copper pipe brazing, cutting, fitting, and alignment tasksSupport fabrication work including drilling, cutting, deburring, and part modificationsInterpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and bills of materialElectrical Assembly & Controls SupportPerform electrical panel wiring and field wiring tasksInstall and connect sensors, transducers, relays, contactors, VFDs, power supplies, and safety devicesSupport installation of instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow,



and current monitoringAssist with controls commissioning and signal verificationRead and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagramsRefrigeration & HVAC SystemsSafely evacuate, charge, and recover refrigerants in compliance with industry standardsPerform leak testing, pressure testing, and system integrity checksSupport refrigerant circuit preparation, oil handling, and filter replacementStartup, Testing & TroubleshootingPrepare chillers and heat pumps for commissioning and testingExecute startup procedures and functional performance testingTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls issuesSupport validation activities and factory acceptance testingProduction & Team SupportProvide technical support to manufacturing and production teamsAssist with prototype development and special projectsSupport project timelines through flexibility and collaborationQualifications3–5 years of hands‐on experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems, preferably chillersExperience with mechanical assembly and electrical/control wiring in manufacturing, testing, or R&D environmentsStrong understanding of refrigeration cycles, refrigerant handling, evacuation, and charging proceduresAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and control diagramsExperience with electrical panels, sensors, VFDs, and industrial controlsStrong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills across mechanical and electrical systemsHVAC/R, refrigeration, electrical, or mechanical technical training is considered an assetAbility to communicate effectively in both French and EnglishComfortable working in a fast‐paced, hands‐on, collaborative environment
