As a SDE II on the AWS Marketplace team, you will design and build large-scale distributed systems that power a multi-billion dollar commerce platform used by customers and partners worldwide.

You'll own critical components end-to-end — from architecture through delivery — and drive technical direction that directly impacts AWS's growth.

What You'll Do

Lead the design and implementation of highly available, scalable services that handle millions of transactions

Define technical strategy and mentor engineers across the team

Partner with product, business, and partner teams to translate complex requirements into elegant technical solutions

Raise the bar on engineering excellence through code reviews, operational best practices, and architectural guidance

Innovate on behalf of customers — you'll have the autonomy to identify problems and ship solutions

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience

3+ years of experience designing and building distributed systems

Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, TypeScript, etc.)

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, etc.)

Track record of delivering large-scale, customer-facing systems





Experience with commerce, marketplace, or SaaS platforms

Strong communication skills and ability to influence without authority

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship skilled software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
