POSITION DETAILS This is a part-time, in-person teaching position at Johnathan Academy in Vancouver. Classes are held once per week after regular school hours. Candidates may teach AP Psychology, AP Comparative Government and Politics, or both courses, depending on their qualifications and availability.
Compensation will be discussed during the interview process and determined based on qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must hold a valid British Columbia Certificate of Qualification (COQ) or Independent School Teaching Certificate - Subject Restricted (SR). For applicants holding an SR certificate, the certificate category must cover the subject being taught.
Candidates should have an appropriate academic background and robust subject knowledge in Psychology, Political Science, Social Studies, or a related field.



Strong instructional and communication skills are required.
Previous AP teaching experience, senior secondary teaching experience, and familiarity with College Board AP curriculum and assessment expectations are preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will deliver an AP class once per week after regular school hours and provide instruction aligned with the applicable College Board AP Course and Exam Description (CED).
Responsibilities include lesson planning, assignments and assessments, monitoring student progress, providing feedback, maintaining appropriate course records, and preparing students for the applicable College Board AP examination.
