Job Summary

BMAC Technologies and Consulting Inc. (BMACTC) is currently seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer / Technologist. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for every part of your sprinkler projects, from design to construction review, while providing excellent client service. The ideal candidate is results oriented, sets high-performance standards for themselves, has a long track record of exceptional performance and success and is a natural communicator.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Design fire sprinkler and standpipe systems, including hydraulic calculations, and prepare AutoCAD/Revit drawings for residential, commercial and institutional projects.
- Design systems in line with NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 14 and 20, the BC Building Code, the BC Fire Code and local authority requirements.
- Review water supply and flow test data and select the right system type (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge).
- Coordinate sprinkler layouts with architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for completeness and accuracy at each stage of development, following our internal total quality management process.
- Prepare field review and observation reports during construction, working with the architect, contractors and the senior project manager.
- Attend site reviews, inspections and final acceptance testing.




- Develop business development skills to keep existing client relationships and build new ones.

The following qualifications are required:

- Mechanical or fire protection degree or diploma from an accredited institution.
- Proven working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office.
- Ability to work in a complex setting and manage multiple projects and clients.
- Experience working with other consultants, contractors and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
