Fablab Metal Services Ltd. is looking for a full-time drafting technician to join our structural steel team.

We are a structural steel fabrication and installation company based in Richmond, BC. We regularly prepare shop drawings, field measurement drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings for steel projects. Our current drafting support is part-time, and we are looking for someone who can work with us full time and keep up with project schedules.

Main Duties:

- Prepare and revise structural steel shop drawings
- Create field measurement drawings and installation sketches
- Assist with AutoCAD drafting for steel fabrication and installation projects
- Work with Revit, SketchUp, Tekla Structures, or similar software when required
- Visit job sites to take measurements, photos, and field notes
- Coordinate with project managers, shop workers, and field crews




- Confirm site dimensions and update drawings based on actual site conditions
- Assist with material take-offs and basic project documentation
- Help solve drawing and measurement issues before fabrication or installation
- Requirements:
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit is required
- Experience with structural steel drawings is strongly preferred
- Tekla Structures experience is an asset
- SketchUp experience is an asset
- Able to read construction drawings and take accurate site measurements
- Comfortable visiting job sites when needed
- Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Reliable, organized, and able to work full-time
- Valid driver’s license is preferred

Pay: From $25.00 per hour Work Location: Hybrid remote in Richmond, BC
